Happy Halloween!

October 31, 2011 5 Comments

Hard to believe two years ago we were stepping out like this.
With these two buddies along for a ride in the stroller.

Now all five are walking, or running rather, so fast we’ll have trouble keeping up with them as they tote trick-or-treat bags through the neighborhood.
They change so quickly. Enjoy the magic today.
And may you not sweat the small stuff, like I did this morning over Wonder Woman’s wrist band.
Happy (and safe) Hauntings tonight my friends.

Trick-or-Treat!

Cath

Five children in four years, including two sets of twins, brought new meaning to Mary Oliver's earnest question. Our little people aren't so little anymore, but life is still wild, still precious. And this is my meager attempt to hold on, make it last. I love Doug, running, hiking in the mountains, oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, the edge of an ocean, and connecting with you here. So happy to have you along.

Oh when I see a picture of two little ones at that age it almost makes me think I'd like to have two together again…almost!!! Happy Halloween!

Hope your Halloween went smoothly. Those pics of your kiddos are just darling. Yes, the time goes too fast, doesn't it? I'm really hoping the crib tents arrived today, and that all goes well with the setup. Thinking snoozy, sleepy thoughts for you and your twinners:)

Your post also made me think of this poem, just in case you didn't see it on Michelle's blog:

Childhood is the world of miracle or of magic.
It is as if creation rose luminously out of the night,
all new and fresh and astonishing.
    Childhood is over the moment
    things are no longer astonishing.
    ~Eugene Ionesc

That to me sums up what Halloween is about. My kids are moving out of that stage, and I am sad. It's awesome to watch them grow, but there nothing like the magic of the littleness.

You are such a good mom. I admire you more than you will ever know. You are a truly amazing person. Thanks for the example.

    Andrea – yes… almost. And that's a big almost! 😉

Anne Marie – good news on the sleep front. Blessed be the crib tent! I will sing its praises forevermore! I'll share details soon. Hope you had a lovely Halloween sweet friend!

Michelle – LOVE the quote. Thanks for sharing it here.

Darci – Love hearing from you. Hope you had a great Halloween. xo
