Look around. Most kids have access to a screen almost anywhere, anytime. It’s impossible to ensure they will never see a pornographic image. The question is not if but when. So what do we teach our children? How to we prepare them? How do we prep their minds and hearts, give them a plan? This book is one awesome place to start.

I just finished reading and commenting over at Power of Moms but I'll take an "extra" chances to win. We've talked with our kids a bit with some stories from The Friend but I love the action plan details about Good Pictures, Bad Pictures you mentioned and think it would help us have ongoing discussions. From Suzanne JC: As my hubby and I strive to raise 5 children (4 boys), the lure of pornography scares us since it has already destroyed the lives of 2 beloved family members. Just this week, our Thanksgiving feast had a dark cloud over it as a nephew's addiction landed him in prison. Talking about pornography in appropriate ways is the best way we can think to combat/ prevent addiction, but these are conversations that I never dreamed of having to have when I began motherhood just over a decade ago. I'd love this resource to help me know what to say, how to say it, and to help it become a comfortable topic. Pornography flourishes in secrecy and this book is a tool to help bring it into the light. Thanks for the review!

I have recently seen pornography almost destroy a family that I am very close to. It was a devastating discovery, particularly because the person involved is one of the last people I would have imagined to have this addiction. I am learning that good people fall prey to pornography, particularly when they are innocently exposed at a young age. This makes me fear more than ever that my four year old twin boys and my one year old girl are growing up in a world where pornography is so easily accessible and exposure is often unavoidable. I am trying to have faith and be proactive, but it is still a daunting problem to tackle. We have already talked with our boys about it, but I would love to have the book as another resource. It sounds wonderful and I love that you feel empowered after reading it! This is definitely a discussion that will be ongoing in our family.

I have had what I believe to be age-appropriate conversations about this with my 6-year-old daughter for the last year or so because I first saw pornography when I was 7 and I had no idea what it was or what I should have done. And that was before computers and the internet! I'd like to do whatever I can to help my children and others navigate through the treacherous and filthy waters of today's media.
